+ Will the project require any electrical service interruptions?

No local electrical service interruptions will be necessary for the construction of this project.

+ Who will perform the construction work?

We have not yet finalized our vendor details or contracts.

+ Will union labor be used on the job?

In 2016 we signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) District 3, which commits us to using union labor where possible.

+ Will blasting be required for the project?

If blasting is required, neighbors in the area and the municipality will be notified prior to the work.

We anticipate placing the structure foundations at a depth of 13 to 66 feet as noted in Exhibit E-1 of our Article VII Application. Most foundations will likely be less than 50 feet deep. NYES will follow all applicable state and federal regulations when drilling and take all appropriate preventive measures to protect water quality and availability.

+ What type of security will be in place during construction?

Depending on the project scope for any given area, security measures such as check-in stations, fencing, and other methods will be used. We are in the process of developing a plan for structure removal and disposal, which will include recycling. Disposal details will be provided once the plan is further developed.

+ How will you protect the gas line and other utilities in the corridor?

We will work closely with the various utilities operating along the corridor to develop plans and safety measures to safeguard this infrastructure. Details on these plans will be included in our Environmental Management and Construction Plan (EM&CP).
